1772 - Wednesday, April 1, Lt. Perdro Fages and Fr. Juan Crespi, with 16 soldiers and muleterrs, rode through this valley along what is now San Ramon Road and Foothill Road.
1775 - De Anza settlers arrived in Alta California from Mexico.
1776 - Colonies declared their independence from England.
1797 - Mission San Jose established by Fr. Serra.
1826 - Jose Maria Amador, ex-Mexican soldier and ex-Major Domo of Mission San Jose, was granted four square leagues of land upon which to build the first of several adobe houses.
1832 - Don Jose, assisted by his Indian workers, was farming the land.
1834 - Spanish Missions were secularized and the valley land was divided. Amador built a two story adobe home, 160 feet long and some other small adobe buildings. Ownership papers were granted to him at this time by Fr. Gonzales, the priest at Mission San Jose. The adobe was located on the north western corner of Dublin Blvd. and San Ramon Road.
1837 - Jose Amador had 150 Indian and Mexican employees by now. He owned 300-400 horses, 13,000-14,000 cattle, 3,000-4,000 sheep and some pigs. In the small adobe shops on his property, his workmen made soap, harness, saddles, blankets and some farm implements.
1846 - Michael Murray and Jeremiah Fallon, with his family, arrived at Mission San Jose. They had been part of the Donner Party but had left it at Fort Bridger.
1848 - California governed by the United States.
1849 - Gold Discovered.
1850 - California became a State.
1852 - Murray and Fallon, back from the gold mines and desiring a permanent homesite, came to Dublin and bought 1,000 acres of land from Amador. Each built a home for his family. These houses were of wood in contrast to the earlier valley dwellings of adobe.
1853 - James Witt Dougherty and his partner, William Glaskin, bought 10,000 acres of land from Amador for $22,000. The Dougherty family lived in the Amador adobe for some years.
1856 - The original Murray School was established on Flanagan Lane. Attendance was 50 pupils.
1859 - St. Raymond's Catholic Church was completed. It was situated on four acres of land donated by Murray and Fallon. Tom Donlon, a young Irishman, who was working on the church, feel from the roof and was killed. His burial marked the formal establishment of the cemetery, although people had been buried in the churchyard for years.
1860 - Dedication of St. Raymond's Catholic Church. John Green opened his General Store. The Amador Hotel was built and became the stopping place for the stagecoaches that ran between Oakland and Stockton and between Martinez and San Jose.
1861 - Michael Murray was an early Supervisor of Murray Township. Civil War Began.
1862 - James Witt Dougherty built an inn which he named Dougherty's Station. John Green purchased Murray's property and Murray moved to San Francisco.
1863 - A large earthquake occured on the Calaveras Fault which trends under where the Amador adobe was built.
1864 - James Witt Dougherty built a frame dwelling to replace the two story adobe which was damaged by an earthquake in 1863.
1865 - The first wedding performed in St. Raymond's Church united Miss Ellen Fallon (daughter of Jeremiah) and Mr. William Tehan. Civil war ended.
1866 - Murray School District established on June 5.
1867 - James Witt Dougherty donated four acres of land to Archbishop Alemany for use as a cemetery.
1870 - Dougherty bought more land giving him over 17,000 acres.
1871 - Peter Rasmussen emigrated from Denmark, one of a wave of Danes who emigrated during the time.
1878 - By this time Dublin had a school, a church, Sunday School, two hotels, a general store, a harness shop, a shoe shop and a blacksmith shop. The official census showed that there were still 110 Indians living in Murray Township. The name "Dublin" appeared on map #7 in Thompson & West's "Historical Atlas of Alameda County."
1879 - James Witt Dougherty died. He owned over 17,000 acres (more than the original grant to Amador).
1880 - Valley swamp lands drained. A belfry was added to St. Raymond's Church which was now under the supervision of Fr. Patrick Power of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Livermore.
1895 - John C. Bonde came to Dublin from Denmark via Mt. Eden. He operated the Dougherty Station Inn for 25 years.
1906 - John Niedt bought the Amador Homestead from the Dougherty estate.
1910 - Dublin postmark was discontinued. The twon was doomed by the routing of the Western Pacific Railroad.
1914 - Peter Rasmussen built a cottage which was to become the last farm in Dublin. World War I began in Europe.
1915 - The Niedt family moved into the old Dougherty home. The last Indians left the valley and moved to Sonora. The Dublin Garage was built on the south side of Dublin Blvd.
1917 - The United States entered the war in Europe.
1918 - World War I over.
1922 - Henry Bevilaqua came to Dublin, and with Mr. Bertola, succeeded Mr. Bonde as proprieters of Dougherty's Station. St. Raymond's Church was extensively repaired.
1930 - Road in front of Green's Store was widened. The Stockton to Dublin segment of the Lincoln Highway 50, built.
1934 - Dublin now had a school, a church, two hotels, a grocery store, a blacksmith shop, five gas stations and a library. Dublin Boulevard, then called the Lincoln Highway, was lined on both sides with businesses.
1938 - St. Raymond's Church celebrated its 80th birthday. World War II began in Europe.
1941 - The United States entered the war.
1942 - Camp Shoemaker was activated by the War Department on the east side of Dublin.
1943 - The U.S. Navy built Camp Parks as a Construction Battalion Training Base.
1945 - WWII ended.
1947 - Santa Rita Rehabilitation Center was opened by Alemeda County as the first facility of this kind in the County. The facility occupied U.S. Government surplus property, which used to be the U.S. Navy Brig on Camp Parks.
1948 - Dublin Branch Library was discontinued.
1951 - Parks Air Force Base was activated by the U.S. Air Force at Camp Parks.
1952 - Lawrence Livermore Laboratory was established.
1960 - Volk-McLain built San Ramon Village on land that had been part of the holdings of James Witt Dougherty. Village Pioneer, the newspaper later known as Tri-Valley News, began publication. Tri-Valley News is no longer being published.
1961 - Dublin grammer school opened. Don's restaurant, on what is now Dublin square, burned, another landmark gone.
1962 - Molly Donlon Cronin, grandaughter of John and Theresa Donlon Cronin, was baptized in old St. Raymond's Church which was opened especially for the occasion.
1963-65 - The citizens of Dublin failed to incorporate the city of Dublin by a small margin. Pleasanton strip-annexed half the Murray school district into their city limits.
1964 - A campaign was launched to save old St. Raymond's Church.
Dublin Post Office was opened in the Shamerock Shopping Center.
Fallon School was opened in june.
1965 - John Knox Presbyterian Church moved to their new building on Amarillo Road.
1966 - Murray School #3 was opened in January and Murray School #2 was given to the Valley Community Services District for a recreation center. Nielsen School opened in April.
Foremost dairy Research Center opened.
New St. Raymond's Catholic Church on Shannon Avenue opened after meeting in a building on Parks AFB.
The old St. Raymond's Church was given to the Amador-Livermore Valley Historical Society by the Oakland Diocese to be restored and preserved.
Dublin Public Library (portable) opened on Vomac Road in April.
Dublin drive-in theater opened.
Kolb Park, the first park in Dublin, is opened.
1967 - Motel Interstate Systems, Inc. purchased land on Dublin Blvd. for future development. Perchase included Murray School #2.
Fredericksen School opened in February.
Hexcel Products, Inc. opened on Dublin Blvd. west of Dublin Square.
Old Murray home, later John Green's home, burned.
Interstate Highway 680 completed.
1968 - Besco School opened.
Lydiksen School opened.
Kodak Distribution opened on Alcosta Blvd. and Village Parkway.
Crown Chevrolet opened on Dublin Blvd.
1969 - Cronin School opened.
Dublin indoor theater opened.
Dublin High School opened on Village Parkway.
1970 - Old St. Raymond's Church recieved a new steeple as part of the restoration, along with coverage by the local television station.
Besco school children chose the name "Donlon" for their school's permanent name in honor of Tom Donlon.
Dublin post office moved into new and larger quarters on Village Parkway. The Dublin Public Library moved into new and larger quarters on Village Parkway.
Frank McCluskey, Lord Mayor of Dublin Ireland and his wife visited Dublin, California, their sister city.
1971 - Dr. Charles Fisher visited Dublin, Ireland, representing the Jaycees.
Wells intermediate school opened. The Mervyn's Department store opened.
Valley Christian Church opened an elementary school in a surplus school building.
1973 - Howard Johnson's Mortorlodge opened in December.
VCSD Shannon Community Center park opened in September.
1974 - Dublin voters created a special library district to provide larger quarters for the Dublin Public Library.
Dublin Swim Center opened on Village Parkway.
The United States Department of Justice opened a federal correction institution on a parsel of land on Parks AFB.
1975 - Bay Area Rapid Transit busses began feeder service from Dublin, Pleasanton and Livermore to Hayward and Bayfair stations.
Western electric announced plans to close.
Rollerskating rink opened in the original Safeway store building on Amador Valley Blvd.
Ice skating rink opened in a new building on San Ramon Road.
The Dublin Historical Presevation Association was formed by concerned citizens to save the old Murray School which was in the path of interstate highway 580 widening.
The California Department of transportation donated the building to the DHPA and on November 25, moved the school building to leased property next to old St. Raymond's Church in the Dublin Cemetary. The area was designated Dublin Heritage Center at the time.
1979 - The Dublin Public Library moved to a new and larger quarters on Amador Valley Blvd.
1980 - Camp Parks deactivated, reactivated as Parks Reserved Forces Training Area.
1982 - Dublin became an incorporated city upon the vote of the people. Valley Christian Church opened a high school on their campus on Dublin Blvd.
1986 - St. Raymond's Catholic Church opened an elementary school at their campus on Shannon Way.
1988 - The elementary and high schools were unified under the Dublin Unified School District. Dublin Senior center opened in the old Fallon School multipurpose room. The City of Dublin assumed control of the Dublin Sports Grounds and Shannon Community Center. Kodak distribution center closed.
1989 - Alemeda County opened a new correctional facility on Camp Parks which replaced the old one, which had opened in 1947.
The new Civic Center for the City of Dublin was opened on Dublin Blvd.
1991 - Shannon Community Center completely remodeled and landscaped.
1992 - 10th anniversary of the incorporation of the City of Dublin.
