DUBLIN SISTER CITY NEWSLETTER

February 19, 2004

Message From President:

Carol Satterthwaite

Well, it is the beginning of another year for the Dublin Sister City Association. Plans are in full force for the best Green & White Gala we have ever had. We are really excited to be having our Gala at the new Dublin Ranch Clubhouse. It is a beautiful place. Claudia McCormick and her committee have worked very hard to guarantee this to be a very snazzy event. Hope to see you all there. Spread the word and bring along friends. We are still waiting to hear if there will be Irish visitors. Fingers crossed!

On another note: I think if we all become active members we can bring a new life to our group and increase our membership. Go DSCA!

This event is sponsored by the Alameda County Firefighters Association Local 55 to benefit the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation and has become a traditional part of the weekend.  Prices are $4.00 for adults and $3.00 for children and seniors.  Stop by the Fire Station on the corner of Donohue and Amador Valley from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. for breakfast on Saturday.  For more information, call (925) 833-6645.

St. Patrick's Day Parade - Saturday Morning

Beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning is the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade.  The parade starts on Amador Plaza Road and proceeds east on Dublin Boulevard to Village Parkway, then north to Amador Valley Boulevard and west to Donahue Drive.  More than 60 floats will travel the route led by the Grand Marshals from Bray, Ireland.  The parade is also filled with local groups such as marching bands, bagpipers and emergency service vehicles all wrapped in green and gleaming with civic pride. Join the Sister City Board members and march in this great event.
